Michael Dyer: Music
9. Your Eyes I've Looked Into
(Michael Dyer)
The "dome" referred to in this song is a two-story geodesic dome that I and a few commune buddies of mine built in the woods of New Hampshire, many years ago. To my knowledge, it's still there.

I, have learned a lot
about you.
Cannot live without you,
when it’s time
to go.
Gold, glowing from the cave in.
Remember when you gave in
your loving face
you showed?
So hold on.
I won’t be gone long, from you.
Your eyes I’ve looked into.
A dome, waiting for December
and the cooling embers
lying in their
glow.
A home, each can share the other’s.
No need to recover
the want
that we all know.
So hold on.
I won’t be gone long, from you.
Your eyes I’ve looked into.
This song, I wrote on scraps of paper,
and on the wind and, maybe later,
in the ocean sandy
foam.
How wrong, of the stars to be deceiving,
when the rocks hold to believing,
that to me you still belong.
So hold on.
I won’t be gone long, from you,
Your eyes I’ve looked into.
